Oz Lunars + Kangaroos

1) Anyone know when/if silver Tigers will be available? I'm a tiger. grrrowwwlwlwl!!! :congrats:

2) are the Kangaroo coins still made? I love the design -- I mean the 'roo side, not the side with the queen on it (how many years of independence and y'all along with the Canadians still put that spawner of ugly jug-eared twits on every coin? sheesh!*) -- but Apmex is out and that's the only place I buy from.

I know these coins are a poor value compared to rounds or bars, but they're just damned cool. I'd buy a silver kilo Tiger assuming they ever make one, but I'll settle for a 10oz Ag dawg today. I mean tomorrow. er whenever I think prices have tanked only to find out they're even lower the next day. oi!

*apologies to any Monarchists; I mean if there's any left.

I think the silver tigers are scheduled for 2010 (the last of the series). Pig (2007), mouse (2008), ox (2009), and tiger (2010) were the scheduled releases last I heard. I can't decide if I'm a tiger or an ox. I was born in the year of the tiger, but I was born in early January, before the Chinese New Year...not sure what that makes me.

I don't know if they intend to keep producing the kangaroos. I sure hope so. The gold kangaroos are one of my favorite series. I love the 2006 design. I don't really care for the silver ones.

They still make 'roos, and I'm rather fond of them.
Regarding Elizabeth R, I will let my friend David Carr speak: I might remind you, [sir], that it is not the Queen that is bleeding us white with taxes, it is elected politicians. It is not the Queen that is suffocating us with pettyfogging regulations and laws, it is elected politicians. It is not the Queen who has traduced our civil liberties, it is elected politicians. It is not the Queen that has delivered us, bound hand and foot, to the fat Cardinals in Brussels, it is elected politicians. Given the choice between Queen Elizabeth and the gaggle of mendacious, thieving sluts that people like you have in mind to replace her, I know for sure which one I would take up arms for.

Roos are still in production. I have not heard of any rumors that they are not scheuled to continue. They are my favorite bullion coin and I can't get enough of them.

I noticed on ampex they are highly priced compared to others, but my local specialist gets them for me at a highly competitive prices in line with oter bullion.

Cheers.

I too like the lunars and Kangaroos. Check out the Kookaburras. Most of them are gorgeous.

Hail, Diligent Ox,

A veritable <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Gibraltar. An indomitable fortress. This sign might have been called Bulldozer instead of Ox. You are an essentially temperate person who cares greatly for rigor, labor, strength of character and...results!

You can stick to a task longer and go at it harder than anybody. You spare no elbow grease. You hate to be beaten, so you simply never give up. Some may call you slow; others complain that you are clumsy. In fact, you move at your own sweet pace and refuse to be pushed or prodded by a lot of hotheaded fly-by-nights. You believe in simplicity and achievement. Levity in business exasperates you.

You are capable of profound, enduring love, yet romance leaves you cold. You prefer action to beds of roses and phials of exotic perfumes. You take life very seriously but life doesn't always return the favor. You don't normally talk much but you have a remarkable talent for storytelling.

If it's really results you're after, use that special flair. Chat up the conservative Rooster you've been longing to invite to dinner. Share some pink bubbly with a garrulous Rat or send dozens of white roses to a luxury-loving Snake. They are all well equipped to handle your peculiar brand of seduction. The first two eras of your life will be characterized by hard work. During the second adult phase a misunderstanding between you and a neighbor or colleague may cause a deep, long-lasting rift.

Don't lose heart. Your old age will be both long and healthy with peace of mind taking over after fifty as priority number one. Advice? Yes. Lighten up. And stop judging others by your own high standards. You'll only be disappointed. Nobody (except you, my dear Ox) is perfect. (copyright Suzanne White : “The New Astrology”)

Is there a better source for Lunars than Ampex?

Anyone know of a better place than Ampex for pricing on Gold Lunars?

Call this place. They seem to have a great relationship with perth. They are on the USmints list of authorized dealers and I have bought bullion from them several times with great results.

CMI is good, I've gotten great prices from them in the past. I'm quite glad they talked me into buying Horses and Snakes instead of 'roos a while back, although I was reluctant to pay the $2/coin premium. Both have fat numismatic premiums now, way over the $2 I paid!
:yippee:
CNI also has good prices on 'roos. I have no idea why APMEX charges so much more, usually their prices are competitive, but not in this case.

Re: Oz Lunars + Kangaroos

I was a bit disapointed by the horse. It's still an ok coin, but I was hoping it would be a bit more magestic, a little more awe-inspiring. Most of the rest of the series look great, the tiger could be a real standout. I'd call it a boar instead of a pig, though, most of the better Chinese super buffets do, it's more flattering.

Eh, the Queen ain't so bad. She gave me a little knick-knack I still have. The Black Sun had the royal caste hunted down and slaughtered wholesale because it was felt they had grown soft. They installed socialists in place of royalty. Socialists are ruthless and brutal to degrees royalty never was, even in the bad old days. Heck, Cortez got in trouble for killing Moctezuma because the king of Spain recognized his sovereignty over his people. Of course, ol' Elizabeth still has her throne while a lot of others don't. I've never quite been able to figure out why. At any rate, monarcies have their good points.

Thanks! Being born so early in January, I figured I was probably still under the ox sign. It's good to know for sure.

I need to pick up a 'Roo or two for the collection. I guess I may as well go for one of each type of gov't issued silver coin!

The best price i have found is Colorado Gold at 3.50 over spot plus his handling and shipping, still cheaper than APMEX, I ordered 40 of each and am awaiting shipment.

Today Colorado Gold quoted 671.00 for Gold Kangaroos plus his fee and shipping total for 10 ounces is 6804.00. CNI was actually the best price for Kangaroos sell price was 675.00, 10 ounces 6750.00 total delivered.

Just a wild guess - but I think those prices MAY be outdated.

A hint is when he says the "complete 10-coin set," when all 12 have been out for about a year now...
