Oz Lunars + Kangaroos
1) Anyone know when/if silver Tigers will be available? I'm a tiger. grrrowwwlwlwl!!! :congrats:
2) are the Kangaroo coins still made? I love the design -- I mean the 'roo side, not the side with the queen on it (how many years of independence and y'all along with the Canadians still put that spawner of ugly jug-eared twits on every coin? sheesh!*) -- but Apmex is out and that's the only place I buy from. I know these coins are a poor value compared to rounds or bars, but they're just damned cool. I'd buy a silver kilo Tiger assuming they ever make one, but I'll settle for a 10oz Ag dawg today. I mean tomorrow. er whenever I think prices have tanked only to find out they're even lower the next day. oi! *apologies to any Monarchists; I mean if there's any left. |
Re: Oz Lunars + Kangaroos
I think the silver tigers are scheduled for 2010 (the last of the series). Pig (2007), mouse (2008), ox (2009), and tiger (2010) were the scheduled releases last I heard. I can't decide if I'm a tiger or an ox. I was born in the year of the tiger, but I was born in early January, before the Chinese New Year...not sure what that makes me.
I don't know if they intend to keep producing the kangaroos. I sure hope so. The gold kangaroos are one of my favorite series. I love the 2006 design. I don't really care for the silver ones. |
Re: Oz Lunars + Kangaroos
They still make 'roos, and I'm rather fond of them.
Regarding Elizabeth R, I will let my friend David Carr speak: I might remind you, [sir], that it is not the Queen that is bleeding us white with taxes, it is elected politicians. It is not the Queen that is suffocating us with pettyfogging regulations and laws, it is elected politicians. It is not the Queen who has traduced our civil liberties, it is elected politicians. It is not the Queen that has delivered us, bound hand and foot, to the fat Cardinals in Brussels, it is elected politicians. Given the choice between Queen Elizabeth and the gaggle of mendacious, thieving sluts that people like you have in mind to replace her, I know for sure which one I would take up arms for. |

Re: Oz Lunars + Kangaroos
Roos are still in production. I have not heard of any rumors that they are not scheuled to continue. They are my favorite bullion coin and I can't get enough of them.
I noticed on ampex they are highly priced compared to others, but my local specialist gets them for me at a highly competitive prices in line with oter bullion. Cheers. |
Re: Oz Lunars + Kangaroos
I too like the lunars and Kangaroos. Check out the Kookaburras. Most of them are gorgeous.

Is there a better source for Lunars than Ampex?
Anyone know of a better place than Ampex for pricing on Gold Lunars?

:yippee: CNI also has good prices on 'roos. I have no idea why APMEX charges so much more, usually their prices are competitive, but not in this case. |
Re: Oz Lunars + Kangaroos
I was a bit disapointed by the horse. It's still an ok coin, but I was hoping it would be a bit more magestic, a little more awe-inspiring. Most of the rest of the series look great, the tiger could be a real standout. I'd call it a boar instead of a pig, though, most of the better Chinese super buffets do, it's more flattering.
Eh, the Queen ain't so bad. She gave me a little knick-knack I still have. The Black Sun had the royal caste hunted down and slaughtered wholesale because it was felt they had grown soft. They installed socialists in place of royalty. Socialists are ruthless and brutal to degrees royalty never was, even in the bad old days. Heck, Cortez got in trouble for killing Moctezuma because the king of Spain recognized his sovereignty over his people. Of course, ol' Elizabeth still has her throne while a lot of others don't. I've never quite been able to figure out why. At any rate, monarcies have their good points. |

I need to pick up a 'Roo or two for the collection. I guess I may as well go for one of each type of gov't issued silver coin!

Re: Oz Lunars + Kangaroos
The best price i have found is Colorado Gold at 3.50 over spot plus his handling and shipping, still cheaper than APMEX, I ordered 40 of each and am awaiting shipment.

His silver lunars are the best price, if you want 34 of each new one.
